Maybe do the yard in drain rock, then dig the holes and put red cinder around them. That would look pretty cool.

Red washes away on slanted driveways, sometime all the way out on the main road....
red, green, and black cinder are used as mix with soil for planting. wont hurt plants at all.

on good maps you will see w/ Puu Koli they made 1 triangle around the Pu'u so its public land.
Its where the big trucks go get the cinder too... all 3 colors are found in the dugout SW side of the cindercone

If you lucky you can watch the military kooks take shooting practice below.. sometimes with big guns shooting shit a mile away... 500- 1,000+ feet below your view from top of cone. there is even a porta-pottie there for the truck drivers...
