slow but creeping towards?

The movement is so slow that any speculation as to where it is going (other than downhill, LOL) is sort of useless. From what I have read, when these things move this slowly, there is a pretty good chance that something will happen to interrupt the source before real danger occurs. Let's hope that's true.

My thought after seeing the current map? Well it's been active now about 31 years and just because we are NOT seeing much evidence of that on the surface there is no reason to think it is still NOT churning right below us still. Perhaps creating some new lava tube somewhere to give us a surprise ocean entry somewhere south of HPP. [:0]. Or maybe pressure is building now below and something big is about to happen [Sad].
Anyway remain vigilent[:I]

I watch the plumes almost every morning from my backyard and the front is about 15 miles to the west. I have seen it when a flow front must have hit a patch of dry trees, it almost looks like an explosion from a distance, except it is a steam cloud. As the day goes on, more of the forest gets dry in the sun, and the steam clouds start boiling upward. It looks like puffy white clouds at first, then they get darker and darker. It also looks like the front is heading more towards Pahoa now.

It is fairly easy to see what is happening, and why it is different, if you have a 3D terrain model of the island. This is a view looking toward the west from Beaches. The K2 flow is coming down a gully in the Puna forest reserve between the east rift ridge and Hawaiian Acres.

Note: this 3D model is scaled 3 times in altitude to show the features. The fact is the Earth is *almost* a perfect sphere and the land masses on it are almost flat if made to scale.

She is filling in a low spot, after she fills this mile long n wide low spot, she will then again start down the slope .
In the past years, have hiked the entire area, where she is now is a swampy area.
Time will tell what she does and how gravity helps her.
No worries,She does what she does.

Ted: do you have a file for the 3d model that you can share? I'd love to mess around with it if you do. Thanks for sharing your images, they are quite informative.
Me ka ha`aha`a,
Mike
