Matson cuts fuel surcharge by more than half
#1

Matson lowered it's fuel surcharge to the islands to 19% today. It was over 42% in late August.

Here's hoping that grocery prices start coming down!

And I have to say something that I'd never thought I'd say.....My bill from HECO that I just received for this month was $110.00 "less" than last month (all things being the same with regard to usage).

Well I figured out the reason why our electric bill was so low this month. We used only 390kh this month compared to about 600kh last month. We had 31 billing days this month compared to 29 last month. The only thing we did differently this month was that we unplugged "everything" in the house that we don't use on a daily basis. I was amazed how many things we had plugged into a socket that never really gets used... air conditioners, lamps, chargers, fans, older second tv's and dish boxes, second computer terminal, portable radio, coffee grinder, toaster oven etc...

Well folks...it really made a difference.
