I'd also like to chime in here?
I've asked around about sheetrock and what's commonly available is the paper-coated gypsum. Why isn't the paper-less (fiberglass mesh reinforced) drywall available? With all the mold issues, seems like paperless would be perfect in Puna.

I believe that paperless drywall is available. Possibly try Honsador.
I can recommend Ron Lubas - 217-5952

We bought paperless fiberglas faced panels last year at the Kona Lowes, Home Depot will order.
Most of our inside wall work is being done in Hardi panel, mainly because of the weird-ness of our construction. The fiberglas faced board is HEAVY, so keep that in mind (also expensive, but it really is heavy...)

Michael, give Rick a call. He did our drywall and did an outstanding job. He is efficient and affordable. He hangs, tapes and textures.

Is he licensed?

Did someone ask for a drywall CONTRACTOR? NOPE!
I saw the Job that Rick did for Mike and Tamara and it was as good a drywall job as I have seen. I have been hiring drywall contractors for 40 years and Ricks work was top rate. No license will guarantee good quality work. Dan |
