Looking for a Roofer
#1
I'm new to Nanawale. I purchased a small unfinished house. Then I hired an unlicensed builder who, as a part of a package proposal was going to put on a metal corrugated roof. I had to leave town, but when I returned, he had stopped work and left the roof open. The rain poured in, and so did the mold. Can anyone recommend a good and reliable roofer to do the roof right--ASAP? The ones I've found are totally booked up. The first roofer I called was HRC, but he wouldn't do it unless I made a complaint. I sent for the form, but I haven't reported it as yet. Thanks for any recommendations.

Hi Bobbie,
My husband is a licensed General Contractor, Dustin 345-0273, of Sky Builders.( hiloskybuilders.tripod.com ) A small roof should only take a few days, so he could probably pull off his remodel job for a few days and squeeze you in. Good luck to you. Angela

I appreciate all your suggestions. I decided to try the roofing company; it's Yama Roofing. An estimator is coming to look on Friday. One problem is getting the materials as they're run according to a schedule. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks!

Just to let you know how it all turned out: It took a month for Yama Roofing to get their proposal to me, but I liked the idea they would prime and paint the new wood as well as install the necessary new gutters and hook-up to the water catchment. They finally came through, scheduled a date, and came and did the work within a 4-day period (a little over a week ago). One interesting thing, they didn't know what a leaf-eater or a first-flush pipe was. But I persuaded them it was worth their time to read the instructions and install them so they would be prepared for the next client that wanted them. Then the mold clean-up and testing crews came and now I am only waiting for the lab results. The builder had anticipated building a second story: so we found an extra ceiling that had protected the interior of the house. What an adventure! Thanks for your suggestions. They helped a lot! Bobbie
