Trucking company question.

I am grateful for getting the recommendation on Conen trucking I am going to use in Hilo.
Can anyone recommend a trucking company in CA to get the shipping container from LA?

I guess 99% people used Matson's "package"?

There are tons of tucking companies in L.A. If you want a quote from some point in L.A. to Matson's facility in Long Beach just do the simple thing and call or fax a few truckers and give them the zip codes for pick up and delivery and then look at the quotes.

Basically for hauling a container around the south land freeways a trucker is a trucker.

I just talked to a Matson rep. who seems to know the business pretty good.
According to her Matson is not making money on the trucking part.
It looks like she is telling the truth.She said they use Conen trucking in Hilo for $385 flat rate.
I am not looking to save 20 bucks or so.
If there's no substantial savings,it's not worth the trouble.
I don't have much time and coordinating the trucking companies could lead to some problems,I guess.

But the good news is that after Oct. 4-th the Matson fuel surcharge goes down.

There could be an advantage with working with MAtson especially on the L.A. end. Port security and drivers that know precisely where to go and drop off will get you on the right ship at the right time.

On the Hawaii the $385 for Conen's sounds rather good for drop off and pick up.

The customer service lady actually mentioned that Matson often has better rates than individuals.
