Mold
#11
We use the great big ziploc bags and rubbermaid tubs to store guest linens, blankets, and fabric. Rubbermaid is the most airtight of the storage tub brands. As long as they go in dry, they come out dry. Some stuff like quilts I will run through the dryer right before we have guests. We use those folding foam futons and an air bed as guest beds so all that bedding has to be packed away between uses.

When we're gone for several months, I store our linens in those Space Bags, available at Walmart. There's no mildew or odor at all. I just made sure the linens were really dry before I stored them.

Hi lavalinda

Frequently after the rainy season has done its worst, some locals hire me to fill the house with ozone. I've had a bit of success with it. Ozone is a thousand times more powerful than bleach and is a gas so it gets into nooks and crannies. The above suggestions are great too. we also have a dehumidifier on a timer that goes off twice a day for an hour. Take the edge off the humididty.
