Just handed over the copper from our old pipes for recycling at
Reynolds Recycling opposite Hilo Shopping Center (on Kileau).
Some info in case anyone is interested:
- I got $67!
- you have to bring ID and sign 6 pieces of paper
- straight copper piping is $1.30 a pound (early Jan 2010), copper with joins (soldering) is $1.10 a pound. The guy told me that I could've gotten more if I had cut off any straight bits on the soldered pieces, because that's worth 20c more per pound
- they're closed 12:30-1:30 for lunch
