If you're on Moku or mauka of that street, you can subscribe to cable. We live makai and were fortunate to get a DSL hookup. On any given day you might be lucky and find a DSL opening. Last I heard Hawaiian tel didn't have a waiting list; it's if you're lucky to call on a day when someone's disconnected.
