It's that time of year when the November rain is not far away... does anyone have a link to this years forecasts?

It is still a little early for most of the fall forecast models I have seen...

La Nina is back, apparently, and supposed to last through the start of 2011. Many of us who work on Mauna Kea are expecting quite a lot of snow again this winter. I'm not sure about sea level though but wouldn't be surprised if we get heavy rains again, especially compared to last winter!

Here is a text discussion from NOAA (it seems directed to weather geeks, but is reasonably understandable, especially down near the bottom, OND = Oct-Nov-Dec, etc>)

My read on these discussions is below average rainfall into December and above average rainfall from December on into spring.
