painting roof for insulation properties

Pog, nope, bleach didn't touch it. Heard something about a copper solution, but I never tried it or saw a neighbor use it.

Wow, strong growth. Assuming you did but gotta ask ... Did you try it straight ? Have a way to keep it from running off ?

Never tried it on painted surface but works for gelcoat ... Oxalic acid ( need elbow grease ) or next step stronger ... Muriatic > just spray on. Both of these are o.k for new gelcoat and semi safe for older ( starting to get chalky ) gelcoat. However, both i believe would etch a painted surface or at least open the 'grain' of it. Might be worth the trade off on an older already surface to get the slime off ?

Thinking out loud here ... Would Round Up work ?

Judging from the color of your existing roof, I don't think anything other than a pure white roof is going to give you the relief you are looking for. It's pretty light already.

Wish I did not read the skim milk part.

The titanium in the pigment also serves to 'protect' the paint from UV too.

Interesting stuff, pog. A lot I didn't know there. I skimmed it, and I plan to take a closer look tomorrow. I had no idea titanium had so many uses.
