Villager Sun Cooker now available in Hawaii
#1
Aloha,

With all the natural disaster going on around the world, I've now added this new Solar Oven to my product line. This is now available for us to purchase here in Hawaii. This unit will allow us, to be able to cook large volumes of food, for our community, in the event of an emergency.

It runs on propane too, so that if, the sun isn't shining, we can still cook food.
All of our community centers, should work together and organize a fundraiser, to collect money to purchase the "Villager Sun Oven" so that when the power goes off, our freezers full of food, will not go to waste, and the food can be cooked and distributed to our communities.
For those interested in organizing a fundraiser to purchase this unit let me know.

Mahalo for taking the time to look at the "Villager Sun Oven".
Gloria

A solar still is a great piece of kit. And a small solar cooker or knowing how to make one is useful.
But a community spending money on that trailer mounted monstrosity makes no sense

This unit can be purchased with or without a trailer. IMHO, Having a large oven, to be able to travel, is a great feature, to have in an emergency situation.
Nice to have options, available for the community, we never know what our future will be. Too many changes are happening

Think how wonderful it would be, if Japan had these units, in this time of need. At this time, sadly, there is little food to even place in the ovens for them, by what I've read. It is nice to work and prepare as community and help each other move forward in uncertain times.

The Community Centers that want to purchase the unit will get it at cost. This is how important, I feel it is to have in our community.

The price for Commercial Institutions, will be $12,500.00 . The shipping to Hilo, Hawaii $2,600.00 the last time, I inquired, about shipping cost.

Total to get unit to Hilo $15,100.00

Great way to start up a new business and provide cooked foods at our local events or your own bakery in your community.

Hey this would be great at 299.00 to get used to. Cooking oven kind of food without paying HELCO would be great!

[blue]This unit will only reach temperatures of 135-275. If you are considering on building a DIY type, I would recommend placing your pan inside a oven bag to get faster results.
The Global Sun Oven will reach temperatures 150-400 degrees. The Villager Sun Oven, will reach temperatures up 500 degrees. It will bake 25 loafs of bread in 20-25 minutes.
So, it all depends on how long you want to wait for your food to cook, on which unit is best for your family.[/blue

A quick google search shows many different plans for solar cookers out there, virtually all are for small scale personal use and some are very cheap and simple to make. A solar cooker that can turn out food for whole communities during a full scale disaster is a much larger scale project and comparing the two is comparing apples and oranges. In a real emergency there is a place for both.
