Thanks for this link. Interesting that 3 of the top 5 are also the highest consumers. I guess there is not economy in scale. And Texas and Alabama are right there where much oil is produced so the theory of higher prices due to transport doesn't hold much water.

Kind of makes one wonder what would happen if for some reason you were forced off grid (because you couldn't afford to pay helco anymore). Could you survive immediately without TV, a refrigerator, stove, a hot water heater, lights and a computer? I think I could.
