Julian Beever - Chalk art
#1
I was just turned on to this guy's chalk art - rather impressive I'd say.

Check it out:

Wow, that's awesome.

I like the last picture at the end...Batman...

I've seen these posted other places, but the 3-D effect he creates never gets old.

Thanks, Rob,

The one where he is stepping in the pool is incredible. Pretty cool.

And one of the more amazing points of chalk art is that it washes away in the rain.

Hmm, if one took a projector and placed it at the viewer's eyelevel and then projected an image onto a surface and then colored it in, would one get the same effects?

That's a good question...hey Rob - I was lucky enough for someone to send this to me a couple of weeks back. I love this artform! Trompe L'Oile...some of the buildings in downtown LA had faux windows and arches, glass, etc...very cool stuff.

How this guy can get his brain in a mode where he can layout a 3-D perspective on a sidewalk from a remote point of view has me amazed.

The first drawing of that coke bottle blew me away.

I really like the one where he's climbing up the ladder and where Batman & Robin are on the side of the building...very cool.
