This is something I found very moving and quite inspirational and is to do with 911 emergency dispatchers on this island:

I've no idea if this is normal practice but I think it's very reassuring to know that these dispatchers care.

Having a scanner junkie in the hale here, I think it is true. We have heard both humor and compassion. The dispatchers seem more concerned for some of the information they pass along. It is something we like about the BI.
