Does anyone know of Easter sunrise services usually held in East Hawaii? My visitor is Methodist but she says the denomination doesn't matter. Any info would be helpful. T'anx eh![:I]

Yes, Puna Christian Fellowship (non denominational, meets at Pahoa High School Cafeteria on Sundays at 9 AM) is having a sunrise service at the Kapoho hot ponds with pot luck and baptism afterwards. All are welcome.

The last couple of years there has been a Hilo Community ecumenical service at 6am at the Wainaku Exec Center (old C. W. Brewers office just after singing bridge), World Botanical has had a service, Waimea has had a Community service at the Nature Park & Kona has had a community service at the old airport.
Usually the years services are printed in the newspaper the Saturday a week before Easter (typical Island style, but hard to plan for...)

See verse 16, there is your easter service.
Ezekiel 8:13-16 13He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do. 14Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz. 15Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these. 16And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east. |
