Hawaiian Telecom. But they don't do everywhere; call them up.

Hi, my husband and I are getting ready to move into our home on 9th (by Kaloli) in HPP. I have been trying to find our what provider can get us fast speed DSL. I did read the thread above (thanks Carey) and checked with all the providers listed, but none of them seem able to get us DSL! It was suggested I contact a close neighbor and see who they have for service. I would like to have high speed DSL, TV, and not rely on Hawaiian Telcom for phone (or internet, since they're saying we can only get dial-up). Thanks Carrie, for starting this thread (I wasn't sure how to start it!). Punaweb is full of great info, we love having the resource and you have all helped us tremendously so far! Jeannie

Be careful that you don't say you want "DSL" - what you really want is broadband (which can be DSL, cable modem or over the air like Aloha Broadband). As far as I know, only Hawaiian Tel offers DSL (and only in certain areas). And it's a fact of life here that you may not be able to get any type of broadband, even if your next door neighbor has it, so be prepared for that possibility. The fallback option for many of us is MiFi service offered by cellular companies like Verizon or ATT. It's not cheap and it comes with monthly usage caps (so streaming lots of videos will cost you a fortune...), but it might be your only option.

I know some people who use satellite broadband. The latency is too great for things like gaming but its faster than dial up.
