Concrete cost?
#1
What is the maximum amount of concrete that a delivery truck can carry? And what is the current cost for that delivered to (lets say) lower HPP? Do they level the concrete once poured in the prepared space to give it a smooth finish...or is that something you have to do? I'm trying to figure out the cost of a concrete driveway. Im doing all the prep work myself..

I just had a pour from Yamada on Tues. Their max is 11yds. They only unload the concrete...and there is a clock running while the load is being emptied.... With Yamada, if you go overtime, there is a $1.50/min overcharge.

Cost will vary by the mix you request, and delivery, ours was for sidewalks & lanai in Keaau downtown... so not truly a great comp on price...
We had 14 yards (2 trucks) with 3000psi & fiber for $2828.15

2 loads of base rock was $760.10

Our concrete guy also had to add on a crew with a concrete pump (most of our job was not directly accessible to the truck & wheel-barrowing 14 yards would have not been easy & most likely would have put us way overtime..) and there was the concrete guys crew for floating, edging & whirley-birding the slabs (and covering & un-covering the slabs when that blasted downpour came in at 10am!)

If you hire as we did, count on $9-10/sq ft for more complicated pour and maybe down to $6-7/sq ft for a fairly easy pour...

Carey,

I gotta say that I am continually impressed with the depth and clarity of the answers you are consistently able to provide people here on Punaweb. Punaweb's tenth anniversary is approaching and we just may have to award some prizes or titles.

You are awesome!

Hey, no awards needed... this forum has provided me with so much of the info... and the ability to find many answers to the ??? I had.... including for this pour (and the contacts to find THE GUY!)

Plus, if you had asked that one month ago, or one week in the future, I probably would have had no idea on any of the exact prices... the receipts & quotes I got just happened to be on my desk... waiting for Macuu's opportune question (or me to file them in the file of doom) .... and, of course, the rain is still with us!

I would also check Sanford's concrete pricing. Just a option.

They also dont seem to nickle and dime for time on site.

Yamada charged us almost $200 for extra time on a pour where their trucks were late to the site. Lucky I had it documented - arr and dep time.
