This might be great news for people in Alaska...but I for one would not want to fly up there at that time of year!

ya if your a 49'er (we are) and you buy the tickets today (already sold out) the first 100 get fare at $149. one way, instate air miles would be 10,000, so SE SK to Anchorage free even at the $249 one way to Anch it would beat the over $1,000 RT from SE routing though Seattle. the clincher is the Alaska Air Insider email was just received (typical) and the tickets have to be purchased before 6/14! Such a deal...

Your right. Those low fares were gone in just a few hours....The heck with Anchorage..I just booked roundtrip tickets to Vegas from Honolulu for $318.00 on Labor Day weekend on Allegiant Airlines. Even with the inter island $69.00 each way....it's still a great deal.

Alaska Air has a monopoly on Ketchikan, they are the only carrier out of here. It is absolutely crazy what it cost to get out of here!
We are MILES closer to Seattle than Anchorage is, yet it is cheaper for those in Anchorage to fly to Hawaii (!!!!) than for us to fly to Seattle
this beautiful 36 miles of road gets wearing when it is so costly to get out of here.
