Fuel Tax Revenue bill at the Senate - Testimony!
#11
Rainyjim,

Most of us in the subdivisions would be thrilled just to have passable gravel roads so than an ambulance or fire truck could get to our homes without delay. Any additional revenues from fuel taxes would likely just help fill some potholes or do some grading to improve the runoff. In any event, since the County includes our "privately owned public roads" when they make reports to the feds, and since the count police can issue tickets (and collect fines) on our private roads, it seems only fair that we should get at least a few crumbs from the fuel tax revenues.

Again: don't really want/need full pavement, nor the traffic and taxes that go with it.

However: some of these "roads" are so bad that walking or riding a bicycle is difficult/impossible (or at least risking some serious injury).

I have been told by Senator Russel Ruderman's office that SB 382 has passed the Senate Finance Committee and is moving forward to Way & Means (WAM).

I also received pleasant news that Mayor Billy Kenoi sent in a letter of support.

Supporters will be asked to testify again in the future.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Oh, sorry Rob - and guys - I was referring specifically to the HPP train of thought it seems HPP has decided all of its roads DO need to be paved.

Edited for spelling
