what do gutters cost?
#1
Does anyone know what replacement gutters generally run? I've seen someone advertise $4 a foot plus extra for each downspout and extra for a second story and I have no idea if that is a high or low price. We need to bite the bullet and just replace the gutters but I don't even know what the ballpark is in terms of what this is going to cost me. We've got somewhere around 175 feet to do and will need 3 downspouts, one of which is going to be a little tricky.

Carol, I a bringing back this post from last year, as it has the price quotes & what fors' on the quotes we received last summer...

WE ARE NOT ON CATCHMENT...SO THAT MAY CHANGES THE DOWNSPOUT QUOTES, BUT I DON'T THINK BY MUCH, SINCE WE WERE LOOKING FOR LARGE DIA DOWNSPOUTS... (sorry about the caps, but lock was loaded...nothing more!)

Carey,
Thanks for the link, if you feel like sharing who you got bids from and what you thought my punaweb email usually goes through.

I have my own projects and refer contractors to others that I have designed. Seems like it would be a simple matter to have a gutter installer interested in a client with more than project. Not sure I have found such a contractor yet.

In all fairness it is a tricky business, with the hazards of being up in the air to do the work and the uncertainty of working from existing conditions that could be less than perfect. Hope in the next couple of months (by June latest) to have a gutter installer on board. Is there referral power through Puna web? We shall see.....
