Ongoing search in the coastal area south of HPP?

Lots of helicopters this evening flying between Hilo and somewhere south of Kaloli Point. Anyone aware of what might be going on? Last night was a little weird - just before midnight someone was driving slowly in the street outside my house and then suddenly there was a loud shout, sounded like "Jason" and then they drove off. Maybe unrelated although apparently whoever was driving around had been doing it for an hour or so beforehand, probably on the Kaloli end of Beach Road in HPP and prompted one neighbor to call the police. Just curious as there now seems to be a search going on and haven't heard anything about it.

I'm more than a little surprised that I seem to be the only one who mentioned the helicopter activity last night - can't see a report anywhere about why there was so much activity and yet this sort of thing usually sets off complaints about noise etc. Oh well, guess it'll remain a mystery.
