Hawaii county is micropolitan
#1
This is a set of statistics data for all of Hawaii in 2007, just before the crash. Hawaii county then had a per capita income of $28K with 19% under the poverty rate, the poorest of all the islands. The term for Hawaii county/island is micropolitan.

There is another source for the 2010 census data and it breaks down to the developments in Puna, the lowest on Hawaii island, and most development neighborhoods below $20K, in one of the highest cost of living states.
