Where to live, what to do?

Hi. I need advice. I'm looking for a place to rent within reasonable distance to a beach and shopping. I like Puna from what I've read and want some opinions and information. My issue is I want to snorkel every day so I need a good beach, I also need a place to stay where I have good privacy. Is there any place that does Karaoke in Puna? Thanks

With what you want, most likely Hilo would fit more of the items... I would advise to start your search in the Keaukaha & lower Waiakea areas in order to fit both the shopping & beaches nearby...

There are no beaches within miles of shopping in Puna,

Added, for the best snorkeling (most everyday) you would want Kapoho in Puna... but be prepared to ride a bus or drive for miles for the shopping & karaoke...

No beaches near retail shopping, but you might be able to walk to a farmers' market.
