Free Laying Hens
#1

We have too many chickens. It is as simple as that. We cannot bring ourselves to eat them, so we are hoping someone who can provide a good home and who is in need of laying hens - not chicken dinner - could use them.

So far, 3 production Rhode Island Reds and 3 Aurancanas - all layers - are available.

Let me know if there is any interest and we will workout how to get them to you.

Thanks

Mike

I have a nice coop and henhouse in HPP with two hens, a RHR and an Easter egger. Both are too old to be laying anymore, but I promised the woman that gave them to me that I wouldn't eat them, so I'd really like some more hens so I can have more eggs. I'd love to have a few of your hens if you still have some left as long as they are still laying well. I can't really afford to feed more hens that aren't producing, though. I wouldn't eat them.

Hello Amberskyfire; all the hens that we are giving up are layers. The production RHR are prolific! We fell in love with a bunch of chicks, but now they are hens - and we have too many. I still have them. Give me a day or two to catch them and I'll post when I have them. Please email me and let me know how many you'd like. We are giving away 6 of them. Thanks.

I am on one fenced acre and my henhouse has four nesting boxes, so I can take all six if it's easier for you. They will have a great home and will free-range most of the day. Our chickens are very happy. I was just coming to see if anyone had chickens available and saw this. Let me know when they are available and we will come and pick them up. Thank you!

Aloha Mike,

I am also chiming in with an offer for your hens. I have an established coop and fenced yard. Presently I only have 4 hens and would love to add a few more. I can pick them up anytime that's convenient for you. My email is sittall at yahoo dot com

I will be in touch with you both very soon. I've come down with a cold-flu like thing and have been out of action for the past couple of days. I hope to catch them - they are free range as well - over the weekend and have them ready to go early part of next week.

Stay tuned.....

Oh no! I'm so very sorry! Yes, rest and just get back when you're better. Goodness, it sure is going around lately! Hoping your recovery is a quick one.
