It's not like these phones are any different then any other. The NSA has access to all phones, not just the welfare ones. What is causing the respiratory distress or discomfort you may be experiencing is the fact that you chose to live in an active rift zone complete with volcanic gases. It's true and not only the NSA is listening either.The smartphone is one of the most vulnerable devices you can own. For instance, many of the apps out there allow your camera to be turned on remotely and your voice can be recorded as well. I was just watching an interview with John Mcafee and he made a free app that can scan your phone and tell you which apps compromise your security and how they are compromising your security. If you are interested it's called D-Central. There are other ways to encrypt yourself online as well but encryption slows down the internet browsing experience but if you are really worried about that kind of thing try using the Tor browser or I2p. I don't really worry about that too much though. I mean, shoot, that's my name to the left. Anyway, maybe it is best to not look for things to be afraid of or worried about. I just so what I think is right and am not afraid to be wrong. Good solid intention and tenacity can take you a long way in life and show you all sorts of good things do exist in this world.

Over in america this is called the free Obama phone,here it is the welfare phone.
They do employ the welfare people locally though as in welfare to work program.
It is puna related as so many are on EBT and welfare in this state and in especially on this island.
For every phone welfare people get, the people who sign the people up get 5 dollars.
Everything is listened to any how.
Almost all the new vehicles have cell phones built into them and they are all listened to.
Just another reason not to have a cell phone or a new vehicle.

Actually, everyone is being recorded and not listened to in real time, later on, should a specific individual fall under the suspicions of any of the "Alphabet Gangs" (or their privatized counterparts) the "target's" communications will be further scrutinized, 2 hops out.

In Hawai'i these "free" cell phones are being marketed under a "Tribal Resident" plan, and the cost for those eligible is $1 per 1000 minutes/texts per month.
The phones are using T-Mobile infrastructure.

Yeah it is just harvesting data for later data forensics. Usually it is used for political purposes or to make an example out of some poor sucker. If you think about the population size and how much info is flying around it is impossible to be listening to everyone in real time there would have to be a nation of NSA workers just ear to the grindstone 24/7. Still a violation of our rights but fortunately like some other government agencies it is kind of a turkey farm considering what has gotten past their surveillance since Bush started the wire tapping program in the early naughts.
