needy whinny constant complainers need to be put in their place at times.... and called out on!

especially people that relocate here from the mainland and expect it (need it) to be mainland-like...

save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha

I come here to wade through the swamp of snide and flip comments; eventually stumbling upon a sober mind that advances the collective consciousness. I also risk offering ideas that are new to me even though they might be unpopular and fair game to the mean-spirited.

Ok, My intentions were good. I still firmly believe on my statements regarding on how to have a more positive, constructive, and progressive chat.

Paulw, when I wrote what you claim to be a racist comment, I was multitasking with other sites, were Hawaiians were put down. I was defending them, not being a racist. I had to shut down some jerk. But I posted on the wrong forum.

I could have deleted the whole thread, but I did not. I just wrote on the wrong place.

I admit, and took of the old thing at the end of my last sentence. Hey, we are not perfect, and since I speak 5 languages, mind gets messed up..
My point still stands.

I am an old fart too.

Let's keep it civil, I am no racist, give it up...

I am not an ageism either.

Capiche?

People here aren't all going to agree about things. The key is to keep the discussion civil. There are many topics that are polarizing and people on both sides are so set in their ways they don't even listen to what the other side has to say. I've been on forums on the internet where the majority of posters think Obama is a muslim extremist terrorist, which makes me think they are all crazy racist idiots, but if I politely ask a question about hunting or gunsmithing, they are the most polite helpful people you could run in to. My experience on Punaweb has been very good. Every time I've had a question about living in Puna I've been helped immensely and unconditionally by the long time posters you seem to dislike.

It would be brilliant if everyone would drop their prejudices and discuss every topic rationally, but it's unlikely to happen. The combination of prejudices with the anonymity of the internet can bring the worst out in people. Fortunately it can also bring out the best in them as well. Most of the posters on this forum I'd be happy to meet in person and have over for a barbecue. I'm saddened that I missed out on the "Scuba Sunday" times.
Me ka ha`aha`a,
Mike
