Free Days @ da park

The National Park Service has designated the following fee free days for 2015:

January 19, 2015: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
February 14-16, 2015: Presidents Day Weekend
April 18-19, 2015: National Park Week Opens
August 25, 2015: Founders Day
September 26, 2015: National Public Lands Day
November 11, 2015: Veterans Day

Park entrance fees will be waived on these days.

Just looked, and thought if you had nothing to do on Monday MLK, a trip up to Volcano might be just the ticket.

Nice thing about being retired.... they are all free days at the park now!! Great place to hiking!

I think it should be free to the residents of the island.

But, that in mind, it's not really that expensive and takes a bit of gas to get up the hill from beaches. We only go on the free days, unless we have company. Even so, it feels like we get up there plenty just on the free days alone.

Yes it is a GREAT workout esp, after the breakfast buffet!
