Thanksgiving Dessert Recipes...
#1
Hiya! I tried substituting coconut milk for the evap last year in the pumpkin pie and it got rave reviews...this year gonna do the same and add some flaked coconut to the pie as well. (Tony's favorite is pumpkin pie - anyway he can get it LOL)

If you have a great recipe that you wanna share for this year...go ahead and post it. We're doing the bird thing this year...don't wanna go anywhere, but having a few people for dessert and coffee...how 'bout you?

Happy Holidays Carrie & Tony

I must say I share Tony's hunger for punkin pie right up untill I found this Pumpkin/squash variety and you being from New York may be familiar with also.. I'm talking about "Long Island Cheese" I've grown it for years now and in sharing I've heard the same remarks over and over when used in a pie.....yummy! Not at all that tasty as veggie dish but in a pie ain't no punkin like it....that I've had.. I'm not sure how well it grow on the Island but will soon find out....here is alink to it's photo and description for all to view... If you have ties back east have some sent to you, stores excellantly. All I have presently is frozen or I would send you some. Didn't plant this year with getting ready to move and all.

Hey I remember that recipe Mella! It's ONO!

Dave - those are beautiful! My grandma had a huge garden and I remember the flowers and vines running yards and yards. We used to go pumpkin hunting - every year it was an excuse for a long ride in the country and farmers had 'em out by the road...nice memory.

Bourbon brown sugar whipped cream:

1 pint heavy cream, as cold as you can get it
1.5 TBLSP Dark Brown Sugar
2 TBLSP Bourbon

Whip all ingredients together until whipped cream forms and firms a little. Spoon over pumpkin pie, pecan pie, or any other dessert item your little heart desires.

MMMMMmmmmm

Mella,

We tried your Dump Cake recipe. The girls thought it was yummy. They're having some right now. Tastes much better than the name might imply.

Thanks and aloha,

Rob
