Huge increase of eq on the hvo map. Over 1500. Lately I've been amazed at over 200.

our own very low tech and crude seismic alert system has indicated elevated activity of late in the summit area ...to little surprise. hadn't noticed anything particularly unusual today by the official 1930's sash window EQ detector.

Blame it on the lava pool at the summit inflating and overflowing is my guess!

mac - probably the other way round! Not a volcanologist, but my understanding is the large number of tremors indicate movement of magma. Quite where the magma is moving, I'm not sure, but it's likely that movement is causing all the tremors and behind the changes in the level of the lava lake. Really curious to see what happens next.

Geothermal needs about 1,000 more feet to drill on the back end of pele's magma chamber, then the release of pressure at the summit should and could happen?. The last time Ormat drilled into this lava chamber the summit cracked open back in 2007-08 I believe. Human science would think this theory to be impossible, Pwebs experts will say jiberrish while in no way connected. Meanwhile Volcano's will continue to change the worlds definition of impossible often enough to remind most generations a few times.
