Has anyone used lookupvin.com to check on vehicle history?
Any other ideas?
I never know if these things are scams or not.
Thanks

Only one I've ever used is Carfax. They're kind of in bed with the dealerships these days, but you still get all the records, I think.

I just got a Carfax report on a used car I was interested in, so I ran that VIN on lookupvin and it came up with the correct year, make, model, style, country of manufacture. Then it stopped as asked for $19.99 for the rest of the report. Their sample report looks comprehensive and is cheaper than Carfax but is it equally accurate? Don't know. Sorry I can't be of more help.
I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.

Year, make, model, style, country, order off the manufacturing line are all encoded in the VIN, so anybody who knows the code can come up with that stuff. It's the history that's a question. How does lookupvin.com get theirs? Or are they just trying to get your credit card info?
