Verna's in Mountain View closed

Went by on our way to the volcano, only to find signs saying Verna's in Mountain View had closed this last Saturday 9/26. Bummer. The Keaau store closed a couple years ago, now this one. Hope the one in Hilo is okay.

Verna's Mountain View suffered a kitchen fire a couple of months ago -- this merely hastened the demise; I believe they were still connected to a cesspool, and likely didn't have the money to meet new DOH requirements.

Only the parts that attempt to prepare food for public consumption -- and I believe the bakery has an exemption due to its "continuous operation since 1934" status.

If the Bakery ever closes down, that will be a catastrophic event.
