1. Driving and seeing the natural beauty basically anywhere in Puna.
2. Getting together with my friends there instead of the "mainland attitude" people in Kona.
3. Eating Samoan food at the Makuu Market.
4. Seeing the real, vog-less blue sky.
5. Have dinner at Paolo's.
6. Falling asleep to the sound of coquis.

Aloha,

You don't know me from Adam, but I have just started going through back posts here to familiarize myself with the place.

My husband, 15 year old daughter and I will be moving to the BI in Junish. Currently I live and breathe Hawaii as I squeeze the rest of my life around it. I spent 4 years as a little girl on Oahu and can't wait to get back. We have chosen the BI for many reasons. You can read my blog at http://dreamsofhawaii.blogspot.com/ to hear all about it, but I just had to share my indugences that I look forward to.

1. Leaving behind the American Dream aka the Rat Race.
2. Never being cold again!
3. Becoming part of my new community there.
4. My community becomming a part of me.
5. Sitting back and knowing I'm finally home.

6, 7, and 8 would be never being cold again.

You all are great to read (except the rat stories). I look forward to getting to know you better.

Now I find that the good life in Puna is so easily encapsulated into five (hundred) 'indulgences'! Smile

My only one left not already well-named:

...pass along the road at Kalapana...old coconut trees and stone wall on the makai side...hear the surf from Kaimu Black Sand Beach...
[In 1974, during my dream time at Kalapana, so many travelers were in such a hurry to see so much, to see everything! My response was, "Slow down, it'll still be there tomorrow..."
Well, I can still hear it, so it is still there Wink ]

And in the positive, Hilo International Airport does not have de-icing equipment! [Big Grin]
