Whenever these tests are started, the sound on the TV is muted so the message can be heard as well as the banner read. The mute happened even as were were watching the DVR. Switching to live TV, it was also muted.
Problem is the volume was permanently disabled. I had to reboot the cable box to get it restored.
The message said the "test" was to last four minutes, but the sound never came back on, even after 15 minutes.
A call to Oceanic Time Warner and I was told many people had the same problem.
