We have to drive to Kona over the Saddle Road tomorrow (Thursday, 9/15). With the Flash Flood Watch in effect, we are wondering if there are any low spots or areas of possible high water along the way to keep an eye out for. Mahalo!
Open eyes, wipers on and don't be in a self driving car. You all good.
Please pull over for experienced people who commute everyday .

There are areas where run-off from the mountain can flood the road. One is near the entrance to PTA, the other is further over near the 40 mile marker - as you come off the big cinder cone there(before you get to the intersection with the old Saddle Road that goes up to Waikii, they have had water wash big rocks onto the road. I don't know of anywhere else on the new road where there are threats - but do watch out for commuters...
