I just noticed that the link for the OHA Election Guide may not be easy for people to find
Hawaii County residents have one vote each for the Hawaii Resident Trustee, Molokai Resident Trustee, and At-Large Trustee

I would enthusiastically support a candidate whose platform was to abolish OHA. Talk about a failed organization!

Agreed, Chunkster. OHA is a miserable failure! Vote for Mililani Trask, please. At least she has the intelligence to help huli OHA, and not afraid to take on the challenges. She's an attorney, (not a politician), and has fought for years against OHA's continued poor decisions.
For the At-Large seats, Kealii Makekau is a sharp, young man, and he also gets my vote.

OHA Trustee at-large candidate Akina, Keli'i's response to question on "nation-building" :
" Q2 response: I stand with those trustees who oppose the nationbuilding efforts by OHA that are dividing Hawaiians from nonHawaiians and Hawaiians from each other. True Hawaiian nationhood has alway"included all people regardless of race. As the 1840 Hawaiian Constitution states, “Ua hana mai ke Akua i na lahui kanaka a pau i ke koko hookahi, e noho like lakou ma ka honua nei me ke kuikahi, a me ka pomaikai.” “God hath made of one koko (blood) all nations of men to dwell on the earth, in unity and blessedness.” If we as OHA`s beneficiaries continue to elect trustees who pursue a separatist, racebased nation, we will exclude our hanai keiki, many of our parents, spouses, and our beloved haole friends from citizenship. If elected Trustee, I will work hard so that OHA stops dividing Hawaii`s people and starts uniting them. "
