selective "protection" against development
#1
Despite lawsuits and massive cost overruns, HART is still being built.

Meanwhile, TMT is almost shut down, and Superferry is history; highway widening projects (Queen K, 130) are postponed.

The obvious answer is "State lives on Oahu", but I'm thinking there must be more to it.

Maybe it's time for hawaii island to seperate from the rest of the state.

Legalize marijuana.profit from taxes.
State lottery .. profit
Tax dollars stay on island.

Maybe that kind of leverage might work?

Not that much political and economic graft available from a non-profit scientific that benefits us all
than from a gold mine of corruption like HART.

Fixing the drainage will require lots of cut/fill which is a desecration of the land.

Where's the outrage?
