Did it seem like the whales were late, and fewer?

Aloha, I was in Puna a good chunk of the winter, and it seemed like the whales were late, and there were less of them. Can anyone else confirm this or disagree?

Haven't heard nearly as many at night on Kaloli pt. very little singing, mostly slapping.
