New furniture?
#1
We're shopping for some recliners, or something as comfortable. Can anyone recommend some "jungle proof" furniture that you can really relax in?

We have a leather couch, and though the surface is easy enough to clean, it has a lot of "inside" to it, and it seems like a constant battle to keep the mildew smells at bay. I end up spraying lysol into all the cracks and crevices, and even flipping the couch over to clean inside and underneath it. Would like to find something comfortable but easier to maintain in a non-climate-controlled environment... Preferably with good head support and the ability to recline.

Last summer we purchased a smaller recliner sofa (7ft length) from BedMart in Hilo in the Puainako Center. It is meant for 2 people, so reclining mechanism is on each side. We LOVE it! Plenty of room for each of us, very comfortable, easy to care for, and room for our small dog to hang out between the two of us. We did end up ordering the model we wanted and it took about 3 weeks since it came from Oregon. It included delivery and setup. I would recommend checking out their showroom. Furniture was located towards the back of the store.

Wicker or Bamboo seem to be the only jungle proof furniture I've found. It's light, easy to move (outside in the sun occasionally) , covers come off & go in washer. Not very "cushy" though.

If you don't have A/C your best bet is to use patio furniture. I've never bought at Bedmart but I've been in there and their stuff looked good and the prices looked fair. Last time I was at Sears I noticed they had more furniture than I'd seen there before however I didn't look at any of it.
