question on shipping large crates from honolulu

aloha all,

does anyone have any recommendations on who can ship/pick up some crates from honolulu and ship to hilo - door to door service?

would appreciate any recommendations.

Dunno about door to door, we usually take the stuff to Young Brothers and pick it up in either Hilo or Kawaihae. You can ship it either as deck cargo or share a cube (G-van?) with other folks. You'd either have to go to Oahu to move the stuff, have friends drop it off and consign it to you or there are several folks who do that sort of thing commercially, but I don't know their names. On this end, you would probably have an easier time either going to get it yourself or finding a friend with a truck. The actual charges from Young Brothers are usually very reasonable, too.

YB tried to sub out their individual container (load at pier) operation, but were stopped by the PUC just recently. They'll try again soon!

They reccomend a company with "Hawaiian" in it, P/U and Delivery. Call them.
