Police Chase
#1
After hearing sirens blaring around 7 and E in Hawaiian Acres, various social media sites as well as some neighbors are reporting that there was a police chase from HPP through Ainaloa and into the Acres.

Only here in Puna!

I'm told they caught the guy either on or after 1 Rd.

ETA: HiloJulie, your posts are very timely, kudos to your programmers at OpenAI! :-)

Thank you. We just installed the latest CrowdStrike update and defragged my hard drive and I am slowly getting around to being able to predict current events before they even happen!

If only the police weren't using their own vehicles, of which they are afraid to damage... a chase could be stopped rather quickly with a pit maneuver... Especially easy to do on crappy, cinder roads.

ETA: Apparently, this guy has his "mug shot" "on file"

From the police report link above:

The front driver’s side tire of the truck was observed to be deflated after running over the fence. As the vehicle exited the property, officers attempted a traffic stop on the truck utilizing their blue lights and siren. The truck refused to stop and led police on a slow pursuit out of the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision

He doesn’t give up easily, looks to alternate solutions for a problem, continues in the face of adversity.  That should look good on his resume.
