Mayor Kim suffered a heartattack Sun. Aug 10. He is at Queens in Honolulu.

Whoa!

Hope he is recovering well. Thanks, for passing on the information.

Kauai's Mayor passed away this year and that was a real awakening for the people of Kauai. It also made for a real political mess in choosing a replacement.

It does suck that Big Island does not have the capability to even treat our own mayor.

Yes... I agree Damon. Do all heart attack victims go to Honolulu because we don't have the capability to treat them here? Or do just the rich and famous ones go to honolulu?

Turns out he was treated in Hilo Medical center. They then sent him to Honolulu for further testing.

Hilo Med is very good at quickly accessing a patient & sending them to Queens if need be (our very not wealthy neighbors' baby was air ambulanced just a couple of weeks ago, after Hilo stabilized, for further testing... back good as before within 3 days!)

I do know quite a few patients that have Hilo Med. to thanks for the care they have given... (of course there have been major problems... & this is not the thread to go into that, PLEASE...)

Queen's is awesome and I know they will take good care of him! The cardiac care unit is top notch.
