Building Project Pictures - A Work In Progress
#11
John - being in real estate, you get to see a lot of The Good and The Bad and The Ugly. Both done by owner-builders and professionals. So your compliment is much appreciated coming from someone with a big database of experience.

Carrie - Nancy is in Aina Pua. Yes - let there be light! And I was not kidding about SAD (Seasonally Affective Disorder) being a big problem in the PacNW due to lack of sunlight. I don't know how you felt during the God-awful winter/spring rains we had here. But I tried to avoid a lot of people as sometimes their mood could be downright ugly!

Along with SAD, the cold drizzle, fog, and freezing fog is the reason I left the Tacoma area. Major depression when the days get so short. As I’ve posted before, I don’t miss any of it.

Toucano, I too have enjoyed your pictures and thank you for the humor and insight you have put together. I too think your tool shed, LOL, is a work of craftsman ship and quality. Love the windows of beveled glass and the lexan light roofing!

As a native Californian, I've moved as far north as I possible could to escape the throngs of people. Also SAD affects me somewhat, and I'm surprised at how many have the potential for this. So therefor we are now moving southwest instead of north, and will enjoy the Puna rain while celebrating the return of the sun on the clouds exit.

Oh the gate was your first picture right? Now you have the beautiful rock work too. Great site and super job!

You should be very proud of what you've done. I especially like the small touches that combine to give the home and landscape unique character. Well done!

I put some more pictures up of the doors and the cedar deck sealed. They are at the very end of the page so you don't need to hunt for them:

Oh Gosh, that's the cutest little "shed." It's like a dolls house!

Carolann - I've heard "it looks like a dollhouse" said quite a few times. My wife in Brazil said that same thing and wanted me to send it to her. I don't think there are enough stamps on this island to ship it VIA the USPS, and you know how expensive FedEx and UPS can be!

I really don't know what the end use will be. I am thinking that adding a bathroom and walkin-closet and then using it for a master suite and attaching it to the main house by a cover walkway would be a great idea. Time will tell and a tad bit of work yet to do.
