What today has brought
#1
As I sit here, the bird families all about are waking up. The feverish levels they are communicating reminds me of when we were kids and our folks were giving us our list of chores for the day as we were walking out the door. The sky, with broken clouds, is every ascii color of gray you can pick from your color palette. There is no movement of air, the tall trees stand sentinel and perfectly still. Thankfully, the air is crisp and chilled with nary a bit of evidence of volcanic emissions.

It is a new day, the day called Friday, it is stretched out before us. We are here on this magnificent island wondrous in so many ways. How can we best this?

My Friday has been vastly improved with new tomato plants standing sentential ranked in their rows in the newly turned garden. Sparkly green leaves lifting towards the sun with a promise of fat red tomatoes later.

I have new neighbors! The loveliest couple you've ever seen. A pair of Kalij Pheasants have decided to take up residence in our yard and the adjoining undeveloped lot. They are great fun to watch as they scurry about their daily business.

You all have some fun things and places to share.

@Hotzcatz, our little tomato plants have grown wildly in the 3 weeks since they were planted. I am glad yours are looking like they will reap yummy fruit.

@ Andrew, I am so jealous! I am thrilled for the pigeon, doves and starlings that daily flock our home, but pheasants would be so neat. We had them in HPP when we lived there. I would love a Peacock to find my home and stay. I totally love Peacocks, especially their call.

@Wyatt, You are most welcome. It is always cleansing for me to write my affection for this beautiful Island.

@Macuu and Mella, Have never had the privilege to visit New Zealand. It is always a place we've had on our list. We have checked Hawaii off that list we started 43 years ago when first we began our life together and dreamed of the places we would visit together and make memories. Then life happened. Smile
