I was thinking about Billy Kenoi's campaign slogan Together We Can and wondering how people think he has lived up to it so far. It's approaching a year into his administration.
Any thoughts?

Together we can... expect business as usual. What had Kim done 1 yr in? No seriously, how did he compare?

Under Mayor Kim's reign, I signed up for weekly email updates from Hawaii County which informed citizens about upcoming events as well ads many links for additional info and contacts. Once Billy arrived, all communication ceased and now it is very difficult to find anything on the County website. Coincidence? Just try to find out when the HI-5 people are on lunch breaks.
Speaking of rubbish, where was the citizen input on the new hours of operation for the Keaau dump? I managed to stumble on a questionnaire on the website and gave my expressed opinion and recommendations, and now out of the blue, some idiot decided to keep the dump closed until 8AM. I and many other people drop off our trash in the morning while commuting to work and this has somehow gone unnoticed by County Administration. Next thing you know they will be charging a "tipping fee" and then there will be even more trash dumped along the roadways.
The only togetherness i have seen must refer to a group of insiders. How's this for a campaign slogan: ".5% for billy"?

Not trying to go off topic here, but it's so familiar, "together we can". Well on a broader spectrum it reminds of so many other slogans politicians use that are deceptive and meaningless, once they get elected or in some cases put in power. Case in point, "A thousand points of light", "read my lips no new taxes" , and of course one the latest, a presidential campaign based on the slogan "hope".
I hope for a lot of things myself, but it takes a little more than that.

Wow Green, thoroughly off topic, and way off Hawaii, and you say you weren't even trying!
