Census
#1
I heard the Census is starting this month. People tend to mistrust the gov around here add to that a lot of unpermitted houses, general delivery mail and roads census takers are not going to drive their cars down. we are going to get shorted. All gov funding, services and representation are based on this number. How do we get a full count for Puna?

Step 1 is for the people to return the form, then the census taker doesn't try to find them for an interview.

From the Honolulu Advertiser
" Local census officials estimate Hawai'i lost out on $310 million in federal funding over the past 10 years because of "undercounting" in the 2000 census."

That amount of $ loss needs to be made public via radio and newspaper. Public service announcements could help.

But then the jobs created/saved couldn't be counted. Additionally, these people will be eligible to collect unemployment when finished.
