#1
Sad to read in today's paper another local company effected by the economy. After 40 years of business Trojan Lumber will close it's doors the end of April.

It's hard for the little guy to compete with the mega building/home improvement centers like Home Depot and Lowes.

Maybe it had something to do with how they did the business too. I built only one Trojan home during the years but it was a nightmare to deal with them and I'm sure I wasn't teir only dissatisfied customer.

I tried to buy lumber/T-111 from them for my home addition, and the Hilo people were rude and inflexible. I crossed them off my list for their attitude. They may well have treated some customers well, but I'm with John. Won't miss them except as competition to HPM.

I built a Trojan home. Yes in the beginning I had problems with the people managing the Hilo Office, but once they were gone Ray and Julie were top notch. I feel bad for those that work there having to start over.
