HI Income Tax Forms
#1
The Post Office told me the forms would be mailed to me, but since I hadn't received them, I called the numbers listed in the 2008 instructions. I called 800-222-3229 and 587-4242, and followed the instructions to press "2" and got a recording that my selection was invalid. Then I called 800-222-7572, which I received a busy signal that wasn't a busy signal, and 587-7572, which gave me a recording that the number I called was either out of service or disconnected. These were the numbers listed on page 6 under "Forms and Publications by Mail".

This is idiotic. Does anyone have a number?

Thanks, 808, but I don't have a working printer. Isn't the government obligated to mail forms, and provide a phone number in which to request them?

The issue remains idiotic.

Forget the Post Office. Go straight to the source.

Clicking on Forms will take you to the same site 808blogger lists.

Anyway, skip the forms and file on-line.

Thanks, mdd, but what the heck is the government's problem with mailing forms? I'm "old school" and have done it by mail all my life and if I did file on line, I wouldn't have a hard copy for my files.

The issue remains idiotic.

Rob, I got my IRS forms in the mail, as I have done for every one of the 44 years that I've been filing. Same goes for the states that I've lived in (NY, NM, AZ, and NV). Same goes for HI in the first 2 years that I've been living here.

I'll loan you a printer. It won't be much longer before on-line filing will be a requirement. May as well get ready for it.

I've received a .PDF copy of my (state/federal) tax return whenever I've filed my taxes online starting from 2007.

I highly recommend http://www.taxslayer.com/ and https://www.ehawaii.gov/efile/
