I believe Sanfords has the type of cinder we need, but they charge a minimum amount for any amount taken so it doesn't pay to get several smaller portions in the back of my car.
I am looking for someone with a truck who can bring us a few yards, from Pahoa to lower HPP. Does anyone know of someone who can do this for a reasonable rate?
Thank you again for all the advice.

I would be interested depending on what size of load you are looking at.

I called a guy recommended by Sanfords and he would charge $100 flat and $20 a cu. yard. He could deliver 5 yards so his charge would be $125.
Sanfords charges $15 a yard but the minimum charge for one pick up is $20. If I used a pick-up I think I could probably not even take a full yard so I would be paying about 30% more for every load.

Hi Daniel
We would probably need around 2 - 2.5 tons (I can only judge the size by ton as we picked up black/red cinder from Puna Rock and it took 5 trips to get 2.5 tons). I think the girl told me there is approximately 0.6 yards in half a ton but I'm not sure, I would need to double check. How much could you haul in one trip? I can call you directly to discuss.
Thank you.

With the time needed to unload a pickup and the 3 trips, the time and labor and gas, not counting the material cost, would be more than $100. You could rent a pickup from Home Depot or Harper's. $100 seems reasonable.

Yes you may call me at 333-2320. I have a dumper that can haul about 3 tons at a time and a tractor if you need it spread or moved further than the truck can go.
