Community Disaster Preparedness

I am involved with the hawaiian paradise park diaster team (HPP ENET ) ,and was wondering if there are groups in other communitys or people thinking of starting them. That would like to try to form some sort of network to be able to share info, resorces,and help in planing and in times of need.

I own a home in HPP, but live in Los Angeles. I am a licensed amature (ham) radio operator. I am not on the big island very much, but I would like to kept in the loop HPP ENET. Do you have a mailing list?

One of the sad things about emergency prepareness is how hard it is to get people even to think about it. One of my long term goals is to retire to the BI and build a civil defense emergency communications truck.
